ABOUT AAKANKSHA KHATRI

Senior Landscape Architect at Stantec, working across landscape planning and landscape design to deliver landscape-led development.I support projects from early feasibility and planning through to detailed design, with experience spanning landscape planning, LVIA and townscape assessment, Environmental Statement landscape and visual chapters, strategic landscape-led masterplanning for residential and mixed-use development, streetscapes, SANGs, and strategic landscape frameworks.My work focuses on embedding landscape early in the process, using landscape evidence, character, and planning policy to shape development form, mitigation strategy, and long-term outcomes. I work closely with planners, ecologists, urban designers, architects, and engineers to coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and ensure landscape meaningfully informs decision-making rather than sitting at the end of the process.I hold a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the Manchester School of Architecture and have a formal background in Architecture from India. This dual foundation informs a design-literate and policy-aware approach to landscape, balancing ecological performance, placemaking, and long-term stewardship.Alongside project delivery, I take on increasing responsibility for coordinating landscape inputs across projects, including scope definition, programme coordination, and quality management. I have a particular interest in improving digital workflows, including the use of AI-enabled tools, to support clarity, consistency, and high-quality delivery across multidisciplinary projects.My focus is on delivering resilient, well-considered landscapes that work for people, place, and nature.
