During my high school career, I was able to carry out many community projects on behalf of the American Red Cross. I initially joined the club in my high school to build a closer connection to medicine but was able to obtain an ongoing internship and a practical knowledge of humanitarian law as well. I was the first kid in my high school to be selected to join a workshop at Massachusetts red cross headquarters. After a year of continuous meetings and trainings, I was selected to be a part of the leadership team of Red Cross for Andover High School. The first step was to expand aspects of the education I was receiving from my internship to my high school. I was able to start my own International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Youth action campaign. The following seven months, I gathered data, created presentations for my entire school, and continued to build the campaign. This campaign was then submitted to Red Cross Nationwide and was then selected as the winner. I received the status of the official Massachusetts representative and was given the opportunity to attend a month-long internship for IHL. This internship consisted of virtual conferences that would have otherwise been in D.C had it not been for COVID. I was able to meet people from all around the world and share and compare my progress regarding the campaign.
