Aadil Akbar Wani is a research scholar in Agronomy at SKUAST-Kashmir, where he has completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. His research focuses on sustainable weed management using plant-based extracts, aiming to reduce chemical dependency and promote eco-friendly farming systems.During his master’s research, he worked extensively on maize, optimizing planting density and nitrogen management to enhance growth and productivity. Deeply committed to sustainable agriculture, he works towards the capacity building of the farming community through development-oriented research foccused on practical field challenges. His work bridges scientific innovations with on-ground agricultural improvements for long-term sustainability, food security and resilience.
