The GNLU Centre for Environment, Sustainability and Climate Justice (\'GCESCJ\') was established to spread awareness regarding environmental laws and foster a community of individuals passionate about giving back to Mother Nature. The Centre is committed to promoting environmental sustainability and addressing climate change through research, education, and advocacy. Since its inception, GCESCJ has provided a platform for legal scholars, environmentalists, policymakers, and students to come together and discuss the most pressing environmental issues facing the world today. The Centre conducted a Symposium on the \'Conservation of Biodiversity in India: Issues and Challenges\' in 2019, a workshop on \'Competency Based Environmental Law Education\' in 2020 and the \'Climate Change Youth Outreach Programme\' under the aegis of the Government of Gujarat in 2022. In April 2023, the Centre successfully concluded the \'International Conference on Climate Justice and Sustainable Environment\'. Further, GCESCJ will host the IUCN AEL Colloquium in India for the first time in July 2024. The Centre further has a dedicated Eco Club to undertake on-ground actions.
