About Alberta Quick

I am a systems-level executive leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing student access, equity, and success across higher education, nonprofit, and public-sector environments. My work focuses on building and aligning programs, policy, and partnerships that improve outcomes—particularly for historically underserved communities and women of color.I currently serve as Assistant Secretary for Academic & Student Support Programs at the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, where I provide executive oversight for statewide initiatives spanning college access, student persistence, and cross-sector collaboration. My leadership has included directing large-scale programs, managing diverse teams, working with boards and senior leaders, and translating policy into practice at scale. As a first-generation college graduate and former EOF Scholar, I bring both lived experience and strategic expertise to my work. I have led initiatives across student affairs, academic support, and equity-focused systems change, with a consistent emphasis on sustainability, accountability, and measurable impact. In 2021, I founded Leading Young Women, Inc, a nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping middle and high school girls with the confidence, skills, and support they need to thrive. What began as a passion project has grown into a multi-entity ecosystem that includes school-based enrichment programs, leadership development initiatives, and a proposed all-girls school model designed to support girls from middle school through college and beyond. My leadership sits at the intersection of education, equity, and empowerment. I am most energized by opportunities to lead organizations, programs, or systems where strategy, mission, and impact are deeply aligned—and where women and girls are not just supported, but positioned to lead.I welcome connection with leaders, organizations, and search partners committed to education reform, leadership development, and building equitable systems that create lasting community impact.
