ABOUT ALEJANDRO REY HIPOLITO
My graduate work aims to define how neural cerebellar circuits drive motor disorders with the goal of identifying novel neuromodulatory treatments. To this end, I have mastered experimental techniques in optogenetics, deep brain stimulation, electrophysiology, and neural circuit mapping. To disseminate my research, I have gained extensive experience in reviewing the scientific literature and writing grants, research papers, review papers, and book chapters.Through multi-tasking on diverse projects, I have acquired the ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Through extensive mentoring roles and presentations at 9+ academic and industry conferences, I have gained valuable communication skills that enable me to engage all audiences and connect with professionals in business, law, and science.I am passionate about working with cutting-edge scientific technologies, translating ideas from the bench to the bedside, and forging meaningful and collaborative connections.
