ABOUT ÁLVARO MUÑIZ BREA
From proving theorems to building AI solutions.I\'m an AI Data Scientist at Faculty AI, one of Europe\'s leading applied AI companies. We build custom AI solutions for clients ranging from private companies like OpenAI to the public sector. During my time at Faculty, I\'ve worked on big data projects involving traditional ML, as well as LLM-based projects including agentic frameworks and information extraction from PDFs.Before this, I was a pure mathematician. I studied Mathematics and Physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela and later at the University of Cambridge, before completing a PhD in Symplectic Topology. My research focused on the relationship between Lagrangian cobordism and algebraic geometry through the lens of Homological Mirror Symmetry, resulting in three peer-reviewed papers in top journals, including Advances in Mathematics.I bring a mathematician\'s rigour to messy, real-world AI problems.
