About Amanda Milo

Hi, I\'m Amanda! Telling brand stories and capturing strategies through research-driven writing and creative problem solving can propel a company to its goals. That’s why I focus on creativity, research, and insights. My writing is versatile and detail-oriented, and my ability to adapt to a multitude of environments helps me to get in my writing mindscape quickly. All I need is my mind, a laptop, pen and paper – and when it isn’t raining – some headphones with thunderstorm noises playing. Although not necessary, a candle is a plus!Diverse Research:The idea of creating knowledge always intrigued me. When I was selected to be a student researcher, I discovered my love of content analyses amongst other research. But I soon learned that research expands beyond the academic boundaries. At NewLane, I carried out internal interviews with sales leaders to assist in building a customer marketing strategy. At Nuuly, I conducted research by building surveys targeting the brand’s different strategic initiatives and worked with coworkers to target the ideal sample of people. Creative Problem Solving & Writing:Creativity and research are, what I would call, the dynamic duo of strategy. Sometimes research can go awry and thinking of different ways to approach the problem requires creative problem solving. In my case, I managed NewLane Finance’s social media accounts and e-blasts and was in charge of building and launching creative campaigns through these channels. When we were low on content at the end of my co-op, I created the month-long #NationalCreditEducation campaign, which maintained a 3% engagement rate. This successful campaign combined secondary research with creativity.Insightful Findings:During my time at Nuuly, I was responsible for analyzing large data sets responses) collected through surveys including brand awareness data and customer satisfaction scores. I practiced segmenting responses out by different demographics to identify trends and presented these findings out on a monthly cadence to over 60 employees and leaders. And, at Comcast, I worked with the data science team to write white papers for leadership – including the Vice President of Benefits – to analyze the data in context and make projections that were useful for product expansion and contract negotiations with vendors.
