About A. J. Speier

I am qualified to handle sports media jobs as an on-air personality, reporter, TV anchor, and camera man. As a broadcast journalism major, I have spent the last four years developing engaging sports media and entertainment for Buffalo audiences and now I am interested in relocating to a city where I can cover major football, baseball and basketball franchises. With a lifelong passion for sports, I have sought every opportunity during my undergraduate career to provide the Buffalo State sports teams with the excellent coverage they deserve. I have experience in all elements of sports media in college and through the last three years I have focused on developing my on-air sports personality. My strong organization skills strengthen my ability to deliver excellent sports coverage. I understand the value of maintaining credibility on-air and I always have my statistics and information available. Along with my radio experience, I spent time as the Football and Men’s Basketball beat writer for the Buffalo State Record and as sports director for BSCTV. As a reporter at Buffalo State, I attended practices, games and wrote game recaps and feature stories. The experience of being around players daily helped broaden my perspective of the sports business. Establishing relationships is a huge part of the media business and as BSCTV sports director, it was critical for me interact with people since I was in charge of getting highlights and editing them to create game recaps for sporting events. Aside from dealing with head coaches, the athletic director and sports information director, I also established a relationship with the Buffalo State Communication Department and Internal Resources to advocate the college’s first student-run televised broadcast of sporting events. As a result of my efforts, the college plans to continue providing more student-run broadcasts.
