About Life Rajkot
Project ‘Life’ is the operational nucleus of two Non Profits - Saurashtra Medical & Educational Charitable Trust and Indian Medical Scientific Research Foundation established in 1978 & 1991. Supported by a global consortium of compassionate individuals and organizations, partnering charities in UK, USA, Australia, Canada, philanthropic friends in Middle East, Thailand & Singapore, the charity addresses core humanitarian challenges with emphasis on Blood Banking, Thalassaemia Prevention, Primary Education, Women Empowerment, Environment Preservation, Paramedical Post Grad Education, Holistic Health Practices and connecting Non Resident Indians with motherland. Mobilizing advanced technologies, adequate logistic resources and over 130 strong dedicated work force, Project ‘Life’ subscribes to the philosophy of continuing development and growth to excel in humanitarian services and has won exemplary recognition nationally and internationally, having effectively touched 9.8 million lives. Project ‘Life’ HQ spreads over sq.ft. built up area over 7 levels in a building that has been awarded the 1st prize as \'Most Outstanding Concrete Structure of India\' by American Concrete Institute - Maharashtra chapter and a Citation from Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE) for effective use of blended cements in design and construction. Project \'Life\' has achieved multifold growth since inception, through extensive community programmes and services to support, sustain and enrich the lives of people, with dedicated focus on less privileged sections of society, reaching the unreached with a steadfast vision, consistently implementing best practices. Advancing into 21st century, capacities, systems and structures need continuous development to meet the challenges that threaten livelihood and life of people.
