ABOUT GAURAV SHUKLA
As a medical physicist I strive to bring together cutting-edge technology, medicine and physical sciences in providing the highest quality of care to our cancer patients through the safe and effective use of radiation. I’m excited by how every day in the clinic presents new opportunities for applying this scientific knowledge along with hands-on problem solving, and collaborating with our phenomenal team to apply systems and design thinking to optimize our clinical workflows, prevent errors and push the boundaries of what we can do for our patients. In addition to the routine responsibilities in the patients’ imaging and simulation process, treatment planning and radiation delivery I am involved in the adoption and clinical implementation of many new technologies, new clinical trials, and educational activities for our residents and students. Some of my special interests include scripting automation, data science, risk-analysis methods and spatial fractionation in radiation oncology.Beyond medical physics, I am highly interested in collaborative opportunities for interdisciplinary innovation and entrepreneurship. To further prepare myself for such opportunities, I recently completed my MBA at Penn State.
