ABOUT OSCAR TAN
I’m currently an MBA candidate at Cambridge Judge Business School and actively preparing to pursue a traditional search fund. I bring over 10 years of experience as an operator and business owner, having started my first business at 18 during my undergraduate studies. Since then, I have built and acquired three regulated service businesses in London, successfully exiting one at a profit and continuing to operate the others.In the early stages of these businesses, much of my experience involved leading teams far more experienced than I was, learning how to earn trust, motivate people, and build strong cultures in people-intensive environments. As the businesses matured, and while pursuing my MBA, I transitioned into a board-level role with independent management teams running day-to-day operations.Pursuing entrepreneurship through acquisition and a search fund is a natural continuation of my journey as a long-term owner-operator, focused on continual learning, disciplined decision-making, building durable teams, and creating value over time.I’m always keen to learn from others and connect with people interested in search funds, entrepreneurship, and long-term business ownership.
