Responsible for the Planning Department which includes four portfolios:County Planning – the County is the Approval Authority for plans of subdivision, plans of condominium and local municipal official plans and official plan amendments.Local Planning – the County provides local planning services to its eight local municipalities including development review, policy planning, and special projects.Geographical Information System (GIS) – the Department provides GIS services for the County, local municipalities, and emergency service organizations.Woodlands – the Department is responsible for the management of the County-owned Forest and the agriculture-related services of forestry and weed inspection.

ABOUT DURK VANDERWERFF
With over 30-years of progressively responsible land use planning and municipal management experience, Durk has demonstrated expertise in staff management, budgeting, project management, being part of the County’s Senior Management Team, regularly reporting to and providing professional land use opinion to elected councils and the Ontario Land Tribunal. Durk’s continuous education includes a Diploma in Urban Design, a Bachelor of Arts Honors Geography with an Urban Development specialization, and a Master of Public Administration.
