ABOUT BRIANA SWIFT

I’m Briana. I started my career as a music teacher. Now, I help some of the smartest engineers in the world understand complex technical tools.I taught myself to code using free and open-source resources, but I didn’t do it alone. While teaching elementary school in a rural town, I learned alongside the open-source community, troubleshooting problems live with strangers who jumped in to help. That curiosity (plus luck and hard work) led me to GitHub, where I trained developers and admins while continuing to learn from them in the process.That self-taught mindset has shaped my entire career. I learned how the most successful teams use containers while leading technical storytelling at Docker, and I learned the legal and operational realities of building a scalable customer marketing program. I learned go-to-market strategy by driving internal enablement and market positioning for Docker Scout in Early Access. I learned how to scale developer education by building GitHub certifications and Microsoft Learn courses. And I learned the realities of professional services while managing SOWs and scaling GitHub’s EMEA Professional Services team.Each of these experiences shaped how I help companies connect technical products with the people who use them—whether that’s developers, enterprise buyers, or technical partners—by making complex concepts accessible and actionable.
