About Kat S.
Kat Schulze is a Canadian-born and Los Angeles-based non-profit arts professional. Kat has worked for the Sundance Institute since 2019, wherein they have provided a range of creative and organizational support to the Documentary Film Program and, currently, the Sundance Institute Ignite, which elevates emerging filmmakers through the Sundance Institute Ignite x Adobe Fellowship. In addition to managing the fellowship review process, Kat lends their skills to various film funds from the International Documentary Association and Sundance Documentary Fund. Before Sundance, Kat was the manager of a San Francisco event space, Manny’s, where they oversaw the gatherings of influential figures, including Vice President Kamala Harris and author Michael Pollan. Kat participates in weekly trivia, a monthly dinner club, and routinely ventures to the cinema with their partner and friends.
