Austin Kinlaw is an American Entrepreneur & Philanthropic Scholar.Austin\'s academic journey began at East Carolina University (ECU) from 2016 to 2018. During this time, he served as a mentor in Pitt County Schools with the GEARED UP program through ECU, receiving recognition as Top Mentor in 2016. He also honed his communication skills as a reporter for The East Carolinian, earning the prestigious Reporter of the Semester award in 2018.Following his time at ECU, Austin embarked on a period of personal and professional growth, residing in Raleigh, NC, Denver, CO, and Detroit, MI from 2018 to 2023. He further developed his versatile skillset through experience in ride-sharing, lifeguarding, and healthcare. These experiences broadened his perspective and deepened his commitment to social justice.In 2023, Austin returned to academia, enrolling at Fayetteville State University. He concurrently began his work with ROOTS Mentoring, demonstrating exceptional dedication and receiving the Mentor of the Year award in 2023 and 2024.A skilled communicator, Austin has effectively engaged diverse audiences on critical social issues. He served as a professional speaker at a sleep out homelessness awareness event on the Fayetteville State University campus in November 2023, connecting with a crowd of over 500 students, faculty, and staff & hosted the inaugural Follow The Spectrum, an autism awareness event in Fayetteville, NC, in April 2024.The Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Tech Distillery, Austin now empowers individuals through technology education and building meaningful connections.
