ABOUT SARAH T.

Hi there!I graduated in the Class of 2024 from Georgetown University where I double majored in Government and Justice and Peace Studies. I graduated Honors with Distinction in the 2024 Government Honors Program cohort for the execution of my Honors Thesis,\"The Silent South: The Erasure of Progressive Southerners through Voter Disenfranchisement in the American South,\" a study on the entrenchment of political atmospheres, voter registration and voter turnout rates, and political representation in the Southern United States. Through the Justice and Peace Studies program, I explored an interdisciplinary approach to studying political structures and methods of conflict transformation and nonviolence practices. I\'m passionate about and personally committed to long-term sustainability of systems, intentional communities, and transformative justice in the criminal legal field.Beyond the classroom, I served on the executive boards of the Asian American Student Association, the Georgetown Alliance of Fostered and Adoptee Students, and the Students of Color Alliance in various positions including Treasurer, Co-Chair of the Political Activism Committee, Vice President, and President. Through these student organizations I invested in my community and facilitated dialogues on identity and political engagement. At the Center for Social Justice, I guided the application process and supported leader teams for the First-Year Orientation to Community Involvement pre-orientation program and Alternative Breaks Program, cultivating team dynamics and using my organizational skills to execute social justice education and the broadening of perspectives.I\'m deeply interested in the personal growth and development of people and the creation of holistic and supportive structures for communities through hardship.
