ABOUT PAUL WEBBER
I’ve spent 30+ years in the Canadian group retirement space, and I’ve had the rare chance to sit on almost every side of the table: advisor/consultant, plan sponsor, and client relationship lead with employers, advisors, and recordkeepers. That means I’ve been in the rooms where:* employers decide whether to move or terminate a provider,* advisors debate which partners they trust (and which they quietly avoid), and* member issues and crises land and everyone has to respond quickly and credibly.Over time, you start to see patterns that don’t show up in slide decks or status reports: where implementations really go off the rails, what builds or erodes trust with employers and advisors, and what actually drives member behaviour (as opposed to what we think should drive it).Today, I’m intentional about how I use that experience. I’m less interested in “filling hours” and more interested in short, focused engagements where my background can genuinely shorten the learning curve for a team or initiative. That might mean pressure-testing a service model, refining an employer/advisor experience, or helping translate strategy into member-facing education and communication that lands in the real world.Areas where I’ve added the most value over the years include:1) Designing and refining employer and advisor service models2) Supporting complex or strategic plan opportunities and renewals3) Translating field feedback into practical product, operations, and communication changes4) Building member education approaches that are simple, credible, and action-orientedAt this stage of my career, I’m selective about the projects and organizations I work with. I tend to be a good fit for teams that see value in a “360° industry” perspective and want to use it to accelerate learning and execution. If that sounds like you, I’m always happy to connect.
