About Jo Rose
I leverage internal audit to make connections which bridge gaps, remove obstacles and find solutions that help companies implement operational efficiencies and make my colleagues’ jobs easier. I’ve successfully overcome resistance and rehabbed the reputation of internal audit, leading functions throughout the company to request audits because they have seen the value internal audit provides. J••••••@live.com TRUSTED ADVISOR My adaptability, natural business aptitude and ability to make connections has won me the respect and trust of the C-suite and senior leaders. I’ve developed a reputation for delivering robust audits which provide opportunity to improve operations. I’ve also led cross-functional teams on several projects that fell outside the scope of internal audit. Additionally, I’ve led components of ERP implementations that created alignment with the global corporate structure. My background in finance combined with exposure to all corporate functions via internal audit gives me insight into strengths and deficiencies within the organization. With this knowledge, I make internal connections that allow the company to leverage the expertise of its own employees to overcome gaps across all departments. THE THRILL OF THE CHALLENGE Whether at work or personally, challenge is something I actively seek. I am an award-winning endurance athlete who is equally comfortable swimming in the ocean, hiking \"off the grid,\" analyzing a production line, or presenting in high heels and a skirt. One of the biggest reasons I am attracted to internal audit is the diversity of challenges. I have a bit of a reputation as a fixer. I have created order and stabilized internal audit functions, finance functions and large projects. Part of the challenge is proving to people that I’m their ally. My secret weapon is my relatability and the humor I bring when first meeting teams I’ll be auditing. My goal—keep things light and enjoyable whenever possible because audit can be a stressful experience. EMPOWERING TEAMS I am proud that 100% of my direct reports who wanted to achieve a promotion have been offered that opportunity. I invest in my teams and give them the tools needed to succeed. I want them to make decisions and solve problems on their own without hesitancy. Micro-managing is not my style.
