About David Hensley

David Hensley is the Principal HRBP for the AWS GenAI Bedrock team.Previously he was a HR Leader at Boeing, the world\'s largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes. He has over ten years of experience in human resources, talent management, and mergers and acquisitions, and holds a SHRM-SCP certification, the highest level of recognition for HR professionals.In his role as the HR Leader for the 737 Boeing Production System, he oversaw the compensation, talent pipeline, staffing, and development of employees. He served as the Development Chair of the Leadership NeXt Alumni Association, where he created and delivered continuous learning opportunities for over global alumni. Previously, he was the Global Talent Management Leader for Boeing Commercial Airlines and the Embraer Partnership & Group Operations Joint Venture, where he crafted and implemented talent solutions for over 400 executives, enabling cost reductions, organizational consolidation, and integration activity. He is passionate about learning all elements of talent management, developing his leadership skills, and practicing effective change management skills.David holds a master\'s degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations from Michigan State University, where he also studied abroad in South Korea and wrote a thesis on the Confucian influence of HR practices. He is fluent in German and enjoys playing hockey, hiking, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family. He is an avid fan of Michigan State University athletics and dreams of visiting Tahiti or the Maldives.
